1,475 Free 4x6 Photo Prints - How & Where to Get Them!

Now that almost everyone has a digital camera, it seems everyone also has the problem of a backlog of photographs sitting around on their hard drives and memory cards. Here I’m giving you the rundown of the top 10 sites for free 4×6 photo prints, so that you can do more with your photos…share, scrapbook, preserve them in albums…whatever your gig may be!

The main catch to all of these sites is that you must be a brand-new customer. Remember though, there are ten sites here, so even if you’ve already signed up with a couple, you’re sure to find more. The other “catch,’ if you will, is that most of them require you to pay for shipping on your prints, even though the prints themselves are free. Generally speaking, this is still an excellent deal, as the shipping will be far cheaper than prints shipping would be. I’ve noted the final cost-per-print for each site, so you can compare and decide for yourself.

Note: Several of these sites offer multiple ways to sign up, and each way will give you a different number of free prints. I’ve based the 1,475 number on the MINIMUM number of prints you can get, but make sure you read all the way through each of the 10 descriptions below, as I’ve actually given you the tools to get as many as 1,565 prints!

10. Hoorray does things a little differently from all the others, so we’ll start with them. They offer 20 free 4×6 photo prints per month, and varying sign-up incentives depending upon the day of the week. Currently, their incentive is 30 free prints. Unlike other online services, which generally ship via the Postal Service, Hoorray’s least expensive shipping option is UPS/FedEx Ground, so to ship 30 prints it costs $6.69. This works out to a cost-per-print of 22.3 cents. Not the best deal, but they have been known to run other offers as well, so keep your eyes peeled for their 75 free print deal.

9. Dotphoto offers 20 free photo prints for signing up, and their shipping charges are $3.34 for sending 20 prints. So your final cost-per-print through them is 13 cents.

8. Snapfish credits you with 20 free 4×6 photo prints when you first upload, and shipping costs $1.97. If you go with this deal, your cost-per-print will be 9.9 cents. Note that there are better ways to sign up for Snapfish that will give you more free credits to start with; for example, if you have a friend who is already a member, you can have them send you an invitation, and when you accept, both you and your friend will get 50 free prints credited to your account. If you don’t know anyone who has a current Snapfish account, then feel free to be my new friend! Just shoot me an email (michelle [at] couponfans [dot] com) letting me know you’d like me to send you a referral link, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

7. York Photo, judging by its look and feel, appears to be operated by Snapfish. Thus they offer the same 20 free 4×6 photo prints, with corresponding $1.97 shipping, giving you a cost-per-print of 9.9 cents. The good news is, they also offer the same 50/50 print deal if you sign up through a friend, bringing your cost-per-print down to 6.8 cents. And just like Snapfish, I can refer you as a friend (michelle [at] couponfans [dot] com)! If You’d prefer not to make yourself known to me just to get those prints, they also offer a 40-print deal when you use this link to sign up and input coupon code YGP44 at checkout.

6. Clark Color: If you sign up via this link you will get 40 free prints at sign-up. Shipping for 40 prints runs $2.95, so the cost-per-print will be roughly 7.4 cents. If you sign up by simply going to their site, they provide only 20 free photo prints, and charge shipping of $1.97. That makes the cost-per-print go up to 9.9 cents. The best deal, as with the previous two sites, is to have a friend refer you, get 50 prints, and pay only 6.8 cents per print. Yup, I can refer you for this one, too. :) In fact, if you’d like me to refer you for all three at once, just note that in your email to me, and I’ll be happy to do so.

5. SeeHere is currently offering 50 free prints; to take advantage of this offer, you must use code “prints-6″ (without the quotation marks) at checkout. Shipping for these first 50 prints will cost $3.19, or about 6.4 cents per print.

4. Shutterfly gives you 50 free photo prints for starters, and shipping charges are just $2.99 if you print them all at once. This comes out to a mere six cents per print.

3. ArtsCow offers a whopping 1,200 free 4×6 photo prints to new members, the catch being that you can only receive 100 of these prints per month, and that these print credits expire after a year. Still, if you have lots of photos waiting to be printed, this is an excellent deal – just be sure to remind yourself each month with a note in your calendar, so that you do not waste your monthly print allowance. Shipping costs $5.99 per 100 prints, which matches Shutterfly’s cost-per-print of six cents.

2. If you have a CVS Pharmacy near you, you are in luck! CVS offers 50 free prints to all new members with free shipping to the nearest store when your order total is over five dollars. In order to bring your order total up to five dollars, you will need to print 34 more prints (for a total of 84). This will cost you $5.10, which works out to an average cost-per-print of six cents. If you do not have a CVS nearby, you still have the option is to have your prints shipped to your door, though as with any offer where shipping is involved, it will be more expensive. For 50 prints, this would cost $3.99 for shipping and handling, plus CVS adds a surcharge of $1.49 to any orders which are not at least five dollars. Total: $5.48, or roughly 11 cents per print.

1. If you are fortunate enough to have a Ritz or Wolf Camera nearby, make sure you look into Ritzpix; they offer 25 free 4×6 photo prints, and also allow you to pick them up free. An extra bonus to this site is that it only takes one hour (depending upon order volume at your local store – I would recommend calling ahead before driving over) from the time you order online to the time you can pick up. If you do not live near a store, and must have them shipped, it should cost roughly $1.99. Thus your final cost-per-print would be eight cents.

But…what if I’ve already used all these offers up?!

It happens to the best of us…eventually, we go through all these great introductory offers, and are faced with the prospect of actually paying for our photos (gasp!). I have great news for you, though! Even after you’ve run out of free prints as a first-time customer, there are still ways to get your photos printed for free! Just check out my other post on free 4×6 photo prints to learn all about it.

Happy printing!
