I know I don’t usually feature As-Seen-On-TV items, and that’s generally because they don’t offer coupon codes, or any kind of discount at all, at least from what I’ve seen. Oh, sure, they always say “but wait, we’ll double your offer!” and stuff like that, but from what I’ve seen they make enough on the postage and handling on those “free” items that you’re more than paying for them…hardly a bargain, right?

I accidentally hit the post button on this one yesterday, so to those of you who came here via your feed readers and could not find the post, I apologize!

Think the Big A doesn’t have clearance deals? Think again! Just because they don’t have an easy-to-find link to their cheapest items, doesn’t mean they don’t have tons to choose from. For example, did you know you could buy heat-moldable tooth whitening trays for just 50 cents each? How about this Alba Botanicals Pineapple Quench Lip Balm for FOUR CENTS?

Now, I know what you’re thinking…”sure Michelle, they have cheap stuff, but the shipping is going to kill me!” And you could be right, if you ordered just one item. But there are at least two ways to put the links below to use and not have to pay a dime for shipping:
1. As filler items. You know how Amazon offers free shipping on orders over $25? What if you just bought an item that costs $24.99? You don’t want to spend another $5, $10 or more to get your total up. So using these links can help you quickly find one or two filler items and save the day!

Sears Amps it Up with Midnight Madness Again

Remember how just a couple of days ago I was talking about how great the Sears clearance deals are year round? Well it looks like they’ve decided to sweeten the deal yet again!

At 5pm CST (6pm Eastern) on 5/16, they’re starting another Midnight Madness event, where you can get 5% to 20% off in various departments. The cool thing is, these deals apply to Clearance items in those departments as well, so these discounts are on top of already great prices! You’re going to have to be quick. though, because at 5am CST on Monday, 5/17…it’s all over. Still, even those of us with early bedtimes should be able to find something, given that the sale starts in the evening. Best of all, there’s no coupon code needed!

How often do you see good discounts on Levi’s Jeans? My personal experience has been that even so-called “outlet stores” have a habit of overpricing these jeans. You’ll often hear from myself, stores, and other bloggers when one of the big-box retailers is having a huge clearance blowout; this is because we get all kinds of emails that they’re clearing their shelves. But what about those in-between times? Many online retailers have Clearance sections that are available 24/7/365, even though they don’t publicize them nearly as heavily as their full-price stock. And keeping an eye on these sections can score you big rewards!

For example, right now in Kohl’s Gold Star Clearance section, you can pick up a Harajuku Lovers LOVE fragrance set for $14.00; that’s 60% off of the $35 retail!

They’ve also got these great (women’s) Tuxedo Shoes by Candie’s for only ten bucks, which is a whopping 80% discount off of the original $49.99 retail.

Sears is another big box that has year-round clearance values. If you’ve been following me for any time, you’ve heard me rave about the inexpensive FoodSaver vacuum bags they’ve been offering in their Clearance Section for only $5.57 (regularly $9.99).

But did you know that they also have killer deals on larger stuff, and in other departments? Here are a few more deals I hunted up for Sears.com’s Midnight Madness Sale. Remember, it runs from 5pm tonight (3/17/10) to 5am tomorrow (3/18/10), so you’ll have to be quick to snag these!

If you’re in the market for an indoor grill (think George Foreman), there’s this Proctor Silex model on clearance, and it’ll have a price of only $7.20 during the Midnight Madness Sale! After 5am tomorrow, the price will go back up to $8.00 (still not a bad deal).

If outdoor grilling is more your speed (or you’re looking for a gift for the DH), try their BBQ Pro stainless steel tool set. It’s only $3.57 during Midnight Madness, or $3.97 if you miss the sale.

There are also some crazy deals to be had on crazy deals on slipper boots and shoes, like the ones above that are just $1.59 during the sale WITH FREE SHIPPING! Warning about the Walgreens Bic BOGO/BOGO Coupon Deal

Bright and early this morning I set out for my local Wags to do some of the nice deals available this week. OK, it was dark and early, but that’s just because we’re having some grey weather…

Anyhoo, I had in my hot little hands two of the Buy One, Get One Coupons on Bic Disposables from the 1/10 SS. My first tip-off that things might not go right lay in the fact that when I located the razors in question, they were not marked with any sort of sale signage. Double-checking the weekly flyer posted in the store, however, I verified that they were indeed supposed to be buy one at $6.99, and get one free. Oddly, the razors themselves were originally priced at $5.99, but…I had the flyer to back me up, come what may!

When I got to the register, however, the peculiar pricing bit me in the rear. They rang up as follows: $5.99 for the first package, and $1.00 for the second package. This might not have been so bad, had I had only one coupon. But when the associate went to ring up the second coupon, she said she could only put it through for $3.50!

I went ahead with the transaction, since I had just terrorized the manager with my couponing the previous week (and he was very nice about it, I might add), and didn’t want to get too bad of a reputation at this Wags. Still, I wanted to warn y’all that, for some reason, be it regional price differences, or some other confounding register issue, the Bic Buy 2 Get 2 Free deal might not work for everyone in all areas!

On a brighter note, I did find the Neutrogena Men Skin Clearing Shave Cream in the clearance section for only $2.64. This combines beautifully with the $2.00 any Neutrogena Q from December’s All You magazine. Mr. Wonderful absolutely adores this stuff, so I am planning on checking other stores nearby to see if I can snag him more at a great price!

Airborne products were on the clearance shelf of one of my local Wags; Pink Grapefruit flavor & Hot Apple Cider flavor (nighttime version) were $3.74, and another, larger box of Citrus flavor (16 count – can’t remember the price, but it was higher). The UPC of the Pink Grapefruit flavor (the only one I bought) is: 647865100171

Wags Trip – With Visual Aid!

So, OK, I actually hit two Wags today, but at the second one I only found the Creamies that I’ve already told you about. I was hoping to pick up the Bayer Quick Release Crystals & the Ecotrin 45 count, but neither store had those! Making the best of a not-that-bad situation, here is what I came home with:

After all of my coupons (including that great $7 Scrubbing Bubbles Shower Cleaner Starter Kit coupon, which is still available here)& $5.50 of Register Rewards, I paid $38.72. Not that exciting, I know. But WAIT! Then, just as planned, the Catalina spit out $22 in RRs! Net cost to me: $16.72. MUCH better! And just for shock value, the receipt shows my savings as $48.44. After getting $22.00 back, that number goes up to $70.44, for a savings of almost 81%.

Almost everything shown in the picture is part of the 4/26 Wags deals you can find on pretty much any other coupon site. The one odd egg was a bottle of Vital 8 gummy vitamins for adults (who knew there was such a thing? Who cares?! They taste great!) that I found clearanced for $2.19. Unfortunately they had only one bottle, and the second Wags I hit didn’t have any. I’ll have to check the other two tomorrow, because hey, what a fun way to take your vitamins! Seriously, I gag at the taste of most vitamin pills, so it’ll be nice to have a vitamin I actually look forward to taking.
