OK, after this morning’s foray into unhealthful junk food, I figured I better redeem myself with a post about something a little healthier!

A little while back I mentioned how I stocked up on my vitamins when Puritan’s Pride was running one of their Buy Two, Get Three Free sales. When I hit CVS on Saturday to spend some soon-to-expire ECBs, at the bottom of my receipt I saw that I had received a coupon for $2.00 off any ONE Pantene Hair Care – Shampoo, Conditioner or Styler. Given that this week CVS has an ECB deal that gives you $2 back when you buy a Pantene item for $5.99, this would bring the price down to only $1.99 per item. But for me (and probably for at least one or two other people, should they catch it just right, the deal can get even better! I received a sample of the newly re-formulated Pantene in the mail just a week or so ago (I think the box read something like “A Gift from Mr. Right”) from Vocalpoint (I think), and in that box were several coupons. The one marked “A coupon for you” was good for $1.50 off any ONE Pantene item, which will make my final cost for a bottle of Pantene only $0.49!!!

I’m so excited, I can’t wait to hit CVS on the way home from my doctor’s appointment and snag my super-cheap Pantene!

BTW, the other coupon receipt that printed for me on Saturday was for $2.00 off Nice N Easy Root Touch Up, which matches up nicely with the $1 ECB and $2/1 coupon from the 7/4 P&G Insert to give you a final cost of $0.99!

Did you know that when you sign up for Rite Aid’s new Wellness Rewards program they will give you a coupon for $5 off of any $25 purchase? This will go great with some of the coupon deals that are currently running (and combined with their Single Check Rebates, can make for some sweeeet moneymakers)! That’s in addition to the fact that the Wellness Rewards program lets you earn points that you can redeem for 10% off and 20% off coupons, and that once you reach 500 points, you automatically get 10% off ALL of your non-prescription purchases. There’s a lot more to it than that, even but I probably can’t summarize it as well as Rite Aid can, so head on over to their site and read the fine print. It’s actually kinda exciting!

If you get the Knoxville News Sentinel or the Bristol Herald Courier (don’t know about the other local papers), there was a coupon for $2.00 off any ONE Aussie Styling Product when you buy any ONE shampoo or conditioner. If you combine this with the CVS deal on Aussie this week, it’ll look like this:

Buy on Aussie Shampoo OR Conditioner, and one Aussie Styler, for $2.99 each = $5.98
Use $2.00 off Coupon = -$2.00
Receive $2.00 ECBs for each Aussie product = -$4.00
Final Price: $0.02 MoneyMaker!

Note that there is a limit of 2 on the ECBs.

Granted, it’s a tiny moneymaker, but I wanted to bring it to your attention, since we didn’t get the BOGO coupon that the rest of the country apparently did. Interestingly, the $1.00 off Herbal Essences coupon we got in those papers would work exactly the same way, except you would need two coupons to pull it off.

You’ll often hear from myself, stores, and other bloggers when one of the big-box retailers is having a huge clearance blowout; this is because we get all kinds of emails that they’re clearing their shelves. But what about those in-between times? Many online retailers have Clearance sections that are available 24/7/365, even though they don’t publicize them nearly as heavily as their full-price stock. And keeping an eye on these sections can score you big rewards!

For example, right now in Kohl’s Gold Star Clearance section, you can pick up a Harajuku Lovers LOVE fragrance set for $14.00; that’s 60% off of the $35 retail!

In truth, there are loads of other online stores that offer sale-priced merchandise every day, and it’s not just limited to department stores. Barnes and Noble has a Bargain Books section, Walgreens always has clearance specials, E.L.F Cosmetics is clearancing their lip glosses right now, and for my scrappy pals, Sizzix has an Outlet, and Joann.com has a clearance section in almost every department. So! No matter where you shop online, be sure to look for a clearance/outlet/sale section first…it’s bound to save you money.

Warning about this week’s Resveratrol deal at Walgreens

I tried to do the Finest Natural Resveratrol deal at Walgreens, but it is not working the way some sites have predicted. In case you’re not familiar with the deal: Resveratrol is $9.99 per bottle, and Finest Natural vitamins are BOGO this week. There is a $5 off q in Walgreens’ March coupon book for Finest Natural Resveratrol, which SHOULD take off 2x$5 when you buy 2 bottles, BUT IT DOES NOT. It beeps, since 2x$5.00 = $10, and the total charged for the BOGO Resveratrol is only $9.99. So the cashier took it off by hand, and it only comes off once then. I suppose you might be able to argue the cashier into taking off a further $4.99 if you’re adamant about it, but I decided not to push my luck, figuring $20 worth of supplement for $5 wasn’t worth getting “a reputation” over.

Where to find the VitaminWater Lip Schtick

I didn’t find the Vitamin Water Lip Schtick in the first Walgreens I visited, and I was a little bummed, since it would have been free. However, when I was checking out at my second Wags of the day, I just happened to notice it…near the register! More than likely they had had it at the first Wags as well, but I had only looked back with the other lip balms. So if you don’t find yours there either, be sure to look for a round plastic container near the front register candy & gum section!

Of course, it’s also available at Walgreens’ online store, if your local one is out, or just doesn’t carry it any more. They have Focus (kiwi-strawberry flavor), Multi-V (lemonade flavor), and XXX (acai-blueberry-pomegranate flavor) to choose from.

PS did you know this lip balm was made by Bonne Bell? Brings back memories, as I’ve been using BB products since I was a little kid…
